One of the biggest struggles I had when becoming a parent was that tasks never seemed to get completed and it drove me crazy. My house would be cluttered and messy. I felt like I was drowning in a mess of things and incomplete projects. I am not sure exactly where I read it but the idea or rule is that if a task can be done in 60 seconds or less than you should complete it without delay.
For me this is anything from putting my clothes away, cleaning the counters, paying a bill online, or sending a card. I find that the small stuff can make a big impact on your everyday life and keeping your house in order. I also use this rule at work. If a tasks takes less than 60 seconds than I complete it right then and there. Things get checked off my to do list faster than ever before because most of the tasks never take as long as I think they will.
This rule is simple and easy to follow. Give it a try and let us know how it works for you.
